Living on display

My friend Ian is living on display for three months in the upscale, green Portland building Cyan PDX.

From the website:

"Cyan PDX are well-designed urban apartments with small carbon footprints for real people."

This is an interesting way to showcase the experience of living there. We look forward to the promised videos.

Love a good makeover!

From the first time I saw one in McCall's magazine, probably at the dentist's office around 1958, I have loved makeovers. Don't you?

I was fascinated by these Before-and-Afters. Click any of the photos and be amazed. The Makeover Guy, Christopher Hopkins, specializes in over-45 ladies, who are in their "second chapter."

Ahem.

His book is called "Staging Your Comeback." If his writing is anything like his blog, it will be fun to read, as well as useful.

...the Glamorgan study raises a significant issue about matching gender styles to audiences in order to achieve more effective communication on Web sites.

If the site is selling to women versus men, taking into account the linearization of esthetics will very likely improve how site visitors interact with that site.
